Quad Advisor - Kilgo and Few
Schedule an Advising Meeting
In my role as a Quad Advisor, I partner with students to help clarify and reach manageable academic, personal, and post-Duke goals while also helping to navigate the many programs, resources, and opportunities on campus. It is my hope that all students feel heard, valued, encouraged, and supported as they forge their path at Duke and in the world.
As a practitioner-researcher, I am interested in identifying and leveraging relational, programmatic, and systemic approaches that promote equitable learning. My work is informed by experience as an educator, researcher, and clinical and forensic social worker in public school, community, and university settings, including my prior roles as Data and Assessment Manager and Academic Guide here at Duke, my alma mater. I also worked in Durham’s vibrant restaurant industry for seven years, including all four years of undergrad. After college, I pursued a M.Ed. from Lesley University, and MSW and Ph.D. in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Through these varied professional and educational experiences, I have developed core beliefs that guide my work with students: every person is the expert in their life; every person is capable of growth; natural and formal support systems are important for providing knowledge, validation, and encouragement; and the work is not done until access to opportunity and outcome are equitably distributed.
I can’t wait to meet you!
