Quad Advisor - Crowell and Keohane
Schedule an Advising Meeting
I’ve been part of the Duke community for most of my adult life, and I have worn many hats here, including research scientist, instructor, mentor, advisor, and student. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities students encounter during one of life’s most exciting transitions. At Duke, I’ve had the joy of teaching first-year students in the Thompson Writing Program, leading the cornerstone seminar for the Child Policy Research Certificate, mentoring Bass Connections research teams, and supervising independent studies. In every setting, I aim to create an environment where students feel supported and challenged in exploring big questions, taking intellectual risks, and connecting their learning to real-world issues.
As a full-time Quad Advisor in Trinity College, I support students as they navigate academic choices, plan their paths, and balance the many opportunities and challenges of college life. My approach is informed by my background in developmental psychology and nearly two decades of experience mentoring undergraduates, allowing me to provide guidance that is thoughtful, practical, and tailored to each student. I aim to help students see the connections between their academic goals, personal growth, and future aspirations.
I believe in listening deeply, encouraging curiosity, and celebrating each student’s unique path. Whether a student is choosing courses, navigating setbacks, or planning for life after Duke, I’m here to help them feel grounded in who they are and excited for what comes next.
