Director

As the Director of the Academic Advising Center, I oversee the academic advising services provided to Trinity College students from the time they matriculate at Duke until they declare their major as sophomores. I manage all aspects of the AAC including strategic planning, operations and assessment of center activities. This role allows me to continue doing what I love most - working with undergraduate students as they navigate such a transformational time of their lives.

I have crafted a career in advancing student success initiatives in higher education. Before assuming the role as Director, I served as an Academic Guide at Duke, a new advising initiative that seeks to integrate academic and emotional wellbeing support within the fabric of West Campus residential life. Prior to returning home to the Triangle, I oversaw sophomore advising as the Assistant Director of the Advising Programs Office at Harvard University. I also served as a professional adviser at Agnes Scott College, where I led a range of programs, including peer advising and dual degree advising in engineering and computer science. Prior to this, I worked at Duke University in multiple roles, first as a Nowicki Fellow for the Office of Undergraduate Education and then as the Program Coordinator for New Student Programs. I earned a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke, an Ed.M. in higher education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and an Ed.D. in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University.

Outside of my professional work, I have been steadfast in my Duke volunteer commitments. Currently, I am delighted to serve on the DA Board of Directors as an Honorary Member (2022-present) and a member of National Young Alumni Development (2015-present). I most recently served as the inaugural co-chair role of the Duke Asian Alumni Alliance. Over the past years, I have been the co-chair of the Duke Boston Women's Forum and the co-chair of Duke Atlanta Regional Board, and I have served as co-chair of my five year and ten year reunions. I received the Forever Duke Award in 2019 as a reflection of my commitment to Duke since graduation.

I enjoy food adventures (both cooking and partaking), world adventures (last international trip was to the Maldives) and nature adventures (married in the Duke Gardens). At home, my husband and I are outnumbered by our two dogs and our son. Since I was young, I have loved stories, and I am always interested in hearing the stories of people's passions, backgrounds and lives. Schedule an appointment to share yours.
