Senior Academic Advisor

I came to the Academic Advising Center after advising at the University of Washington in Seattle for ten years. I began my advising career after completing a BA and MA in English at the UW. As an undergraduate I was grateful to the advisors who exposed me to opportunities I otherwise wouldn’t have been aware of such as independent studies, humanities research, and interesting courses in departments I might not have considered. My experience cultivated a desire to work with students to help them navigate their own myriad educational options.

At Duke, I help students navigate the incredible range of programs, resources, and opportunities available to them.  I'm grateful to continue to play a role in students’ lives by being one of many sources of advice and support for them. I thoroughly enjoy working with undergraduates as they learn how to make the most of their educational experiences, discover their interests and talents, and decide how they want to shape their lives.
