Quad Advisor - Edens and Wannamaker
Schedule an Advising Meeting
Prior to joining the Academic Advising Center, I was Director of the Academic Guides Program, a program that provided academic and well-being coaching and support to students living in the Quads on Duke’s West Campus. During my time at Duke, I have also been Program Coordinator for the Asian American and Diaspora Studies Program. I thoroughly enjoy helping students pursue their intellectual interests and connecting them with the resources they need to succeed. As a Quad Advisor, I’m excited about working with students as they discover academic pathways they find both challenging and fulfilling.
After completing my PhD in Literature at UC San Diego I was a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California Los Angeles in the "Cultures in Transnational Perspective" Program. While at UCLA, I taught courses in the English Department and continued research I had begun in my graduate work on music and other popular entertainments in Hawaii from the 1840s into the 20th century. In addition to UCLA, I've taught courses at UC San Diego and the University of Southern California on a range of topics, including critical writing, multiethnic literature, US imperialism and postcolonial literature.
