Many Duke students continue their studies after graduation by pursuing advanced degrees in the arts and sciences. Through independent scholarship, original writing, and research, graduate students develop expertise in their disciplines under the mentorship of and in collaboration with senior faculty. They also serve as mentors to future undergraduates, sharing with them their experiences learned on the frontiers of discovery.

Pregraduate advising is coordinated by Academic Dean Sarah Russell. Faculty advisors across Trinity College of Arts & Sciences also provide information, services and advising for undergraduates exploring graduate study in arts and sciences fields.
