DEFERRAL PROGRam application cycle
Advising appointments are available for juniors who will be applying to Columbia’s and/or Harvard’s deferral programs between March 15th and July 1st. Summer advising will take place via Zoom. However, if you are in Durham and would like to meet in person, you are welcome to come into the office-. Below are the steps that must be completed in order to schedule an advising appointment.
STEP 1: Complete the Deferral Program Pre-Law Advising Form. Instructions on how to schedule an appointment will be sent to you in a confirmation e-mail after you complete this form.
STEP 2: If you attended the personal statement and/or résumé workshops and would like to have your documents reviewed, send those documents to prelaw@duke.edu BEFORE you schedule your advising appointment so that they can be reviewed with you during your advising appointment. If you send documents after scheduling an appointment, your appointment will be canceled and you will have to reschedule.
STEP 3: Follow the instructions for scheduling an appointment that you will receive in the confirmation e-mail after you complete the Deferral Program Pre-Law Advising Form.
SENIOR FALL APPLICATION cycle
Advising appointments are available for juniors who will be applying to law school in September of their senior year will become available on the Monday after graduation /Mother's Day (usually around May 15th). Summer advising will take place via Zoom (unless you will be in Durham and would like to come into the office). Once the school year begins, advising will resume in person. Below are the steps that must be completed in order to schedule an advising appointment.
STEP 1: Complete the Pre-Law Advising Form. Instructions on how to schedule an appointment will be sent to you in a confirmation e-mail after you complete this form.
