UVA Roadmap Scholars applications are open to undergraduate sophomores. A strong preference is given to first-generation college students and students of limited financial means.

Scholars will have a three-week residential experience at UVA during the summer preceding their junior year. Students will gain exposure to the legal profession through mini-courses, meet-and-greets, and field trips. There will be an intensive introduction to critical writing. Room and board are provided, and other costs are covered by the program. There is a $3000 stipend. Roadmap Scholars receive an additional stipend for an LSAT prep course during their junior year. The following summer, Scholars who have taken their LSAT and drafted application materials will be invited back to UVA for a one-week application bootcamp. Scholars then participate in legal internships across the nation with travel, housing, and stipends provided.

The 2026 UVA Roadmap Scholars Initiative will take place in-person May 28 - June 20, 2026.
