Quad Advisor - Kilgo and Few
As a Quad Advisor, I enjoy getting to know each student’s goals, interests, and experiences, listening carefully to what matters most to them. I work to create an inclusive and supportive space where students can freely share their aspirations and challenges. I see academic success as part of a student’s overall well-being, and I’m passionate about helping them take ownership of their educational journey while growing in confidence, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Before coming to Duke, I served as Director of the Odyssey Program at Elon University, a scholarship program that provides holistic support for academically talented students with financial need. Prior to that, I held several roles at Colorado State University focused on building community and fostering belonging among students from underrepresented backgrounds.
My career in higher education began in athletics, where I served as an assistant coach for women’s basketball after spending time as a student manager and practice player at my alma mater, Auburn University. Although I loved coaching, I eventually transitioned into administrative roles in alumni affairs and event management while completing my M.Ed. in Administration of Higher Education at Auburn.
At home, my wife and I enjoy life with our two teenagers and our very silly housecat. Outside of work, you’ll often find me by the grill or smoker—I’m a proud backyard BBQ pitmaster who loves serving up ribs, burgers, and chicken over charcoal or hickory wood. I also stay connected to sports as a high school football and basketball referee, which gives me an interesting new way to stay close to the games I love.
