Brianna Johnson (T’25) - President
Brianna Johnson is the President of the Black Pre-Law Society and has served in the role since the Fall 2023 semester. Brianna is a senior, majoring in Public Policy with minors in African & African American Studies and Global Health. She is particularly interested in the intersection between race and legal outcomes in criminal justice and civil rights law. Brianna loves seeing personal and professional relationships form at BPLS events and educating the Black Duke community on exciting pre-law opportunities beyond campus.
Henry Stephens IV (T’26) - Vice President
Henry Stephens IV is the Vice President of the Black Pre-Law Society. Henry previously served as Resource Officer during the 2023-2024 academic year. He is a junior majoring in Sociology with a Markets Management certificate. Henry’s primary legal areas of interest are civil rights and corporate law. Henry enjoys the camaraderie that BPLS facilitates between like-minded students who are passionate about leveraging the law to improve society.
Kendall Motley (T’25) - Treasurer
Kendall Motley is the Treasurer of the Black Pre-Law Society and has served in the role since the Fall 2023 semester. Kendall is a senior majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Crime, Law, and Justice with minors in Psychology and African & African American Studies. Her primary legal area of interest is family law, specifically focusing on juvenile and domestic relations. Kendall values BPLS’s ability to create a supportive community of Black, like-minded students and to provide pre-law enrichment opportunities that may not otherwise be provided.
Vivian Sekandi (T’26) - Director of Communications
Vivian Sekandi is the Director of Communications for the Black Pre-Law Society, and previously served as Secretary during the 2023-2024 academic year. She is a junior majoring in International Comparative Studies and Sociology with a Human Rights Certificate. Vivian has multiple legal interests, including human rights, refugee, and immigration law. Vivian appreciates BPLS for providing resources she never would have known about otherwise and connecting her with Black legal mentors in her area of interest.
Demetrist Booker (T’27) - Secretary
Demetrist is the Secretary of the Black Pre-Law Society. He served as the Freshman Liaison during the 2023-2024 academic year. Demetrist is a Public Policy major with minors in African & African American Studies and History. His primary legal area of interest is constitutional law. Demetrist’s favorite thing about BPLS is networking with North Carolina judges and prosecutors.
Nikki Tora (T’27) - Resource Officer
Nikki is the Resource Officer of the Black Pre-Law Society. She is a sophomore Public Policy major with a Sociology minor. She is most interested in criminal justice and public interest law. Nikki’s favorite things about BPLS are the close-knit community and how the organization fosters meaningful connections and support among its members.
Kimora Parboosingh (T’27) - Sophomore Liaison
Kimora is the Sophomore Liaison of the Black Pre-Law Society. She is a sophomore majoring in Political Science with a minor in Economics. Kimora is primarily interested in international law to address global peace and equity. Her favorite thing about BPLS is the uplifting environment and the commitment to ensuring that Black people are represented in the legal industry.
Ta’Marion Scott (T’28) - Freshman Liaison
Ta’Marion is the Freshman Liaison for the Black Pre-Law Society. He is a freshman with intended majors in Computer Science and Public Policy. Ta’Marion is intrigued by the intersection of technology and law. Aside from the unwavering sense of community, Ta’Marion’s favorite things about BPLS are the enrichment opportunities and resources that BPLS offers.
