Beginning September 3, 2024, LSAC made the following changes to its fee waiver program:
- Fee waiver recipients are now required to complete at least two full-length practice tests (in Exam Mode in LawHub) before they can use their fee waiver to register to take the LSAT
- Fee waiver recipients are also now required to complete a 30-minute LawHub course called "How Do I Apply to Law School?" before they can use their fee waiver to register for LSAC’s Credential Assembly Service (CAS)
- The income eligibility limit for a Tier 1 fee waiver for independent applicants has been reduced from up to 250% of the federal poverty guidelines to 235%
- The income eligibility limit for a Tier 1 fee waiver for dependent applicants combined with their parents' income has been reduced from 300% of the federal poverty guidelines to 200%
- The income eligibility limit for a Tier 2 fee waiver for independent applicants has been reduced from 250%-300% of the federal poverty guidelines to 235%-260%
- The income eligibility limit for a Tier 2 fee waiver for dependent applicants combined with their parents' income has been reduced from 300%-350% of the federal poverty guidelines to 200%-300%
If you are planning to apply for a fee waiver for the LSAT in the near future, please be aware of these additional requirements. If you plan to apply for a fee waiver for future application cycle, please plan to accommodate these additional requirements.
