Academic HomecomingIn Your Major

Joining a major marks your transition from advising in the Academic Advising Center to advising within your major during your last two years at Duke. With this move to a new academic home come new considerations for how to get the most out of your Duke experience.

What's next?

Your final semesters as an undergraduate are a time to make the most of what Duke has to offer, but they are also a period of preparation for what lies ahead. You can explore career paths through the resources, including one-on-one counseling, provided by the Career Center.

If you’re interested in continuing your scholarship after graduation, advice is available from Duke’s various preprofessional advisors. A department’s director of undergraduate studies and the faculty advisor in your major can provide guidance regarding study in a particular field, and the Office of Undergraduate Scholars & Fellows offers information and a video on applying for postgraduate awards.
